Football is not just any sport. This is one sport where every player contributes to the game, where each player counts. This is probably what prompted us to think a bit more.
The Ocoee Bulldogs Football Club has done quite a bit for the underprivileged section of society. We have helped over 15000 disabled people every year. One of the ways we accomplish this, is by conducting sporting events, where the proceeds are used to fund charitable activities. At this point it becomes crucial to thank the other football clubs, with whom we have joined hands, as well as the business enterprises who have lended us support in this endeavour.
The major portion of the money to conduct these charity football matches are raised through sponsorship. The true potential of the event was achieved due to a strong focus on sponsors. For raising a decent fund, fifty percent of the funds were easily generated from big sponsors rather that focusing on individual ticket sales.
To get the sponsorship for charity football match, we defined our sponsorship level clearly and provided some benefits to our sponsors including both individual and company. Following are few steps initiated while setting sponsors for the charity event:
- Sponsorship level to be set
- Sponsorship level naming to be done
- Benefits to be provided to the sponsors.
Following were the benefits provided to the sponsors during the charity football event:
- Pre-event naming options
- Providing signage at the event
- Press availability options
- Were included in event program and press release
- Acknowledged by event speaker from the podium
- Their details added on our website
Recently, a charity match was organised by our team in collaboration with community sports foundation to support disadvantaged and disabled individuals in the community. The charity match was more than a football match as it was a fabulous lineup of entertainment too. Many prominent celebrities, were invited to perform before and after the match.
To provide further entertainment, expert cheerleading squad was invited to cheer both the football team and public at the match. The match was considered as full of fun and entertainment for all ages.
A scheme was introduced for charity funding people. First 1000 charity supporters were provided free match day flag. Due to huge demand and rush, extra seating block was introduced for the match.
Fans and players were full in attendance to raise money for disadvantaged or disabled persons across the country. A selection of representatives from life soccer Street Foundation also took part in 90 min fixture. As said by the representative “the money raised is going to play a positive impact on the life of disabled people and help them in a great way”.
The tickets for the match were sold online and through phone booking. Tickets to the matches can also be found at business establishments like Riverday Spa, Walmart, etc.
According to www.skysports.com, the whole event was a very success and was able to raise lots of fund for the disabled people. And, for our fans, we did put up a thrilling game, that left sports fans literally gripping the edge of their seats!
